Common questions
Does Faultiq require installing software on my machine IPC?+
No. Faultiq connects directly to the MSSQL historian your machine already writes to, via your existing secure VPN. Zero software installed on the machine itself.
Which historian databases does Faultiq support?+
Faultiq currently supports Ignition MSSQL historian (SQL Server Express and Standard). Support for OSIsoft PI, Wonderware, and FactoryTalk is on the roadmap.
How is the connection to each site secured?+
Faultiq connects via your existing industrial VPN (Talk2M eCatcher or WireGuard). All data is read-only — Faultiq never writes to your historian database.
Can I monitor sites from multiple different customers?+
Yes. Each site has its own connection configuration and reports can be filtered per customer or per site. Built for service organizations managing multiple customer fleets.
What happens if a site goes offline?+
All synced data is cached locally and persists across restarts. When the site comes back online, sync it again to fill missing data. Nothing already synced is lost.
How quickly can we get started?+
Most teams are up and running within a day. You need an IP address, port, and database credentials per site. No professional services engagement required.
